A quick Edinburgh Rundown…
May 29, 2006So, we arrived in Edinburgh on Friday, had kunch down at the Blue Moon, and then B and I went our seperate ways. I walked to Lesleys flat, and Bryan waited an hour to get a 10 bus to Collinton.
Friday night I met up with people from Accounts Payable, and had a very enjoyable evening drinking crap wine and beating Rachel at pool! (se posts below). After the place threw us out (not really…) we went to Rapido on Broughton Street where I got myself a lovely Fish Supper… an Alcholics Dream!!! I also managed to get Brown Sauce down my jacket… so that was put in the wash the next day.
Saturday, I got up (no hangover thanks to the liter of water I drank before bed), and went into town with Lesley. Purchased a Harry Potter DVD and went for Lunch at Valvona & Corolla on The Walk. Very nice… but VERY EXPENSIVE! Met up with Bryan and then went to the Zoo. It was quite active, Mercedes (the polar bear) was swimming around, so very impressed. A good visit… with loads of Penguins and Penguin chicks!
Saturday night we went out for dinner with Lesley and Euan to Chiquitos at Kinnaird Park. Definitely a differant type of human seems to live out on that side of the city. S*C*U*M!
It was a nice meal… but I’d probably have the Fajitas as opposed to the other thing that I had.
Sunday, I woke up and pottered about the flat. Then Lesley, Euan and I went to Costco which was a surreal experience. I miss our little shopping trips… so may have to join the Costco in London. After that, met up with Bryan in town (small detour via the castle), and we purchased 4 small bottles of wine and sat in East Princes Street gardens drinking wine. Gillian came and joined us and once the weather got colder, we moved up to the new bar on George Street called Le Monde. Very snazzy place.
Bryans dad came in and I met him, which was lovely. He seems like a very nice guy and I’m sure I’ll see him again soon.
After Bryan and Gillian had their diner in San Marco, and LA, Euan and I had Ahmeds Tandoori take-aways (YUM!!!), Gillian, Nathan, Lesley, Bryan and I met up in Lamonde for a glass of Vino. Was very nice, and gave me the chance to introduce Bryans sister to my sister. Goodness… it has been a weekend of intro’s then!!!
So… here I sit… just about ready to meet Bryan in Town for lunch and then the train down to London.
All in all… a very relaxing weekend and I’ve had a great time!
